Born in Omaha, Nebraska, Toby has been a Houstonian since 1986. After graduating from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, Toby attended South Texas College of Law, where his studies concentrated on trial advocacy.
Since joining The Matthews Law Firm in 1998, Toby has worked together with Doug Matthews on a variety of cases, with a primary emphasis in the areas of defective product claims, toxic tort lawsuits, pharmaceutical litigation, crashworthiness lawsuits, FELA claims, and nursing home neglect cases. Toby is a member of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, Association of Trial Lawyers of America, Christian Trial Lawyers Association, Houston Trial Lawyers Association, Trial Lawyers for Public Justice, and the State Bar of Texas.
