Some lawyers and law firms who seek plaintiff's personal injury cases don't either properly develop or try personal injury cases they are handling. The insurance companies and the corporate defendants of course know this about them. A good settlement is often a reflection in part of the trial ability of the plaintiff's attorney.
While citations to appellate legal cases handled by a plaintiff's personal injury firm may not be very helpful to a potential individual client in evaluating an attorney, they often furnish useful information to a referring attorney.
