The federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued Class I recalls in 2005, 2006 and 2007 for several Bard and Davol hernia mesh patches because they are defective and can cause injury or death. (Click here for a paper concerning these FDA recalls.) Further investigations now indicate that all Bard and Davol hernia mesh patches may be defective. If you have had a hernia that was surgically repaired and if you also fall into one of the following groups, you should call 1-800-899-3352 or email MATTHEWS & FULLMER at legalhelp@matthewslawfirm.com for a professional evaluation of your possible claim:

repair and, following the surgery, you have had some of the
following symptoms: persistent stomach pain; fever; nausea;
diahrea; abnormal bowl movements; a swollen stomach;
tenderness at the site of your hernia surgery; or
2) For the first surgery to attempt to repair your hernia, your
surgeon used a Bard or Davol hernia mesh patch and later you
had to have a second surgery to repair your hernia.
