ALL BARD AND DAVOL HERNIA
MESH PATCHES MAY BE DEFECTIVE

Law Firm Opens New Section To Handle Mesh Patch Claims

About 600,000 persons in the United States undergo surgery each year to repair hernias. Many surgeons use so-called "mesh patches" to repair hernias, and some of these mesh patches were manufactured by Bard, Inc. or Davol, Inc., a subsidiary of Bard, Inc.

The federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued Class I recalls in 2005, 2006 and 2007 for several Bard and Davol hernia mesh patches because they are defective and can cause injury or death. (Click here for a paper concerning these FDA recalls.) Further investigations now indicate that all Bard and Davol hernia mesh patches may be defective. A national law firm, MATTHEWS & FULLMER, has opened a new section to handle these hernia mesh patch claims.
