TOYOTA RECALL ATTORNEYS

Car Wrecks, Car Accident Attorneys

Due to a faulty and unsafe design, Toyota has issued its largest ever U.S. recall of Toyota vehicles. More than 3.8 million vehicles are being recalled by Toyota.

The Problem

Removable floor mats in Toyota vehicles as well as a failure of the accelerator mechanism has caused accelerators to get stuck, resulting in the driver losing control of the vehicle and not being able to slow or stop the vehicle.

Deadly Consequences of Unexplained and Unintended Acceleration

In August 2009, a deadly collision took place in San Diego, California in which 4 family members were tragically killed when a Lexus ES350 soared out of control, went off an embankment, rolled over several times, and eventually came to rest in an enormous fire. As recently reported in the New York Times, Toyota has received more than 2000 complaints of unintended acceleration, and the company has also been the subject of multiple government investigations since 2002. However, Toyota has been very slow to identify and correct this defect.
